UE4 - Lighting Practice

Rendered with UE4 at 2k. No external post processing.

The idea was to give a different look to the metro wagon, something with exterior lighting, I imagined that it was Brussels tram, that it is a mix between tram and metro and goes in and out from the underground to the surface.

Tried to keep some suttle "uncomfortable-unsettling" atmosphere. Current "covid times..." helped somehow along with the emptiness of the wagon.

I see many Game Artist and Students, in general, using the free assets in Epic Store, so I thought it was a good idea to give it a shot myself, to see if I was able to do something decent with UE4 in terms of lighting from scratch.

Took me around one week from start to end. However, as I am unemployed ;], some days I work more than others, also, I am retaking UE4 and never had much knowledge, so it has been a challenge to put all together, especially in the technical part, where finally I have learned some essential good basic concepts.

Really impressed by the overall quality of the Set and how UE4 does manage all lighting aspects so well from exposition to DOF and so on... Renders so fast even with my limited GTX 960M... I see it as a great platform to render and setup cinematics, that plus the very neat connectivity between Blender and Unreal... Gives me the boost to keep going in this direction.

*Particles are not good and I would like to add some 3D background or maybe characters... Also needs some lighting/shading tweaks... but... I will let the project "rest" by now, and move on to something else, so I redo another project initial setup; repetition, repetition... :]
